Nice Things About Home Phones

Posted on

Some people think a home phone and a landline are the same thing, but this is not always the case. Technically, a landline is a phone with a phone line that includes a metal wire design or even a fiber-optic design that is used for transmission. However, a home phone is any phone that is connected via any connection in the house that allows for phone calls to be made and received solely at the home location. You can learn about the benefits of having a home phone in this article, and this can include an Internet-based phone.

Save money

Having a phone at home can save you a lot of money by preventing you from using your minutes on your cell phone when you are at home. If you have teens that spend a lot of time on the phone when they get home from school, then you can save yourself a tremendous amount of money on your cell phone bills and you won't have to worry about making sure they are off of the phone after a certain amount of time, which can be difficult to keep track of.

Have a better connection

If you find you don't get great cell phone reception from your home, then you will be glad to have a phone service at home where you can enjoy a better connection. When you make phone calls from home, you will be able to hear better and be heard better. You also won't have to worry about dropping calls, which can be extremely problematic if you are on an important call or if you have been on hold for a long time.

Have your location known when calling 911

When you have a home phone, emergency services will be able to detect your address right away if you call them for help during an emergency. If you do have VoIP, which is the Internet phone service, then you will want to make sure that you have registered your phone number to your physical address. Once you have done this, then emergency services will be able to locate your address when you call just as if you were calling from an actual landline.

Have a more secure line

When you talk on cell phones, you run the risk of the phones being hacked, since this is something that is much more sure than you would like to think. When you make phone calls from your home phone, you can feel safer.
